- After making the top five of just about every year-end list, TV on the Radio will be taking Return to Cookie Mountain on a victory lap around North Amrica. They’re also rumored to be involved, along with the Arcade Fire, in David Bowie’s Highline Music and Arts Festival in New York City, which will take place in May.
- Earlier thiz week we learned that Kylie will not be participating in the 2007 Glastonbury Festival. Today we find out that Noel Gallagher’s favorite band in the world, Kasabian, have agreed to headline the U.K.’s biggest festival. So by our math, that means they’ll be playing an afternoon set in the small tent at thiz year’s Coachella Festival.
- Bob Dylan’s reading of The Night Before Christmas should be to the holidah season what The Simpson’s version of The Raven is to Halloween. That is, totally awesome mandatory yearly entertainment.
- Micheal Jackson is supposedly selling Neverland Ranch. Peter Pan is dead. All hail, captain hook!
- Paul Westerberg has a dyslexic heart and a severely injured hand. The former ‘Mats man accidentally put a screwdriver through his hand earlier thiz month and won’t be able to pick up his guitar for at least year.
- While most attendees at the 2007 Sundance and Slamdance festivals will be watching buzz flicks like The Ten by David Wain (Wet Hot Amrican Summer) and Off The Grid by Jeremy & Randy Stulberg, music will once again be vital part of the experience. Among the musicians slated to perform during the week-long festival are Donovan, Terence Blanchard, Ron Sexsmith, Jill Sobule and Simon Townshend.
