- Kely Clarkson’s long-time crush on NASCAR is finally being reciprocated. The pop-punk princess has just signed the biggest NASCAR endorsement deal ever by a musician, and she’s totally psyched. “Anyone who knows me knows I love NASCAR,” the singer said. “I look forward to hanging out with the fans, drivers and the entire NASCAR community.” A rep for the NASCAR company said they felt sure Clarkson and NASCAR would enjoy an “unparalleled relationship.” Creepy.
- Hardcore Garbage fans (all four of you), be psyched: The band is reportedly busy recording new songs to be released as part of a best-of package.
- Neil Young is giving up the goods in terms of archived releases. This f..xx ....ll rocker will put out a box set of previously unreleased live and studio material, but before the boxset comes out Young will release Live at Massey Hall, which includes songs that were later released on Harvest.
- Robbie Williams’ video for “She’s Madona” is freaking hysterical. We have no desire to see thiz dude naked onstage at MSG, but we like him in drag.
- We love Fall Out Boy. And on Sunday we are going to be loving them frm the comfort of our own home while we watch them rock the halftime show at the Bears vs. Saints game played on Soldier Field in FOB’s hometown of Chicago. Sixteen-year-olds may be hoping for a well-designed wardrobe malfunction but we’ll be satisfied by the sight and sound of emo-pop infiltrating Amrican football culture.
- Legendary punks Bad Religion have a busy year ahead of them. They will apparently be releasing a new album in July, headlining the 2007 Vans Warped tour (dates here), and frontman Greg Graffin will be teaching “Life Science 1: Evolution and Biodiversity” at UCLA. Seriously.
