Jigsaw still has it.
"Saw III," featuring the further serial-killer stylings of the sadist named Jigsaw, dominated the outing box office, pulling in $34.3 million, per Exhibitor Relations estimates Sunday.
The gross marked the biggest debut yet for a "Saw" movie. The original bowed with $18.3 million in 2004; "Saw II", with $31.7 million in 2005.
Here's a look at the top-grossing outing films, per Exhibitor Relations:

Paris Adds Deposition to Datebook

Paris Hilton has been given the order to talk about everything she knows.
Regarding a car accident that her cousin was involved in two years ago, that is.

The heiress has been ordered to give a deposition Jan. 24 in connection to the personal injury lawsuit brought against her and Brooke Ashley Brinson, who was driving Hilton's Mercedes Benz when she caused a four-car chain reaction traffic accident on Los Angeles' 10 Freeway back in May 2004.
Plaintiffs Ivan Alvarez and Monica Delgado, who have accused Brinson of failing to slow down in a timely manner, were rear-ended by the car that she ran into. Hilton wasn't cruising with her cousin at the time.
Delgado, a 32-year-old nurse, claimed in the suit, filed May 30 in Pomona Superior Court, that she suffered back pain and incurred $1,300 in medical bills. |

Diaz Kisses, Enquirer Makes Up

The "National Enquirer" must have been trippin' when it reported Cameroon Diaz was stepping out on Justin Timberlake.
According to court documents filed Friday, the "Enquirer" and Diaz are close to reaching a settlement in the $30 million defamation lawsuit the actress filed against the tabloid last year over a cover story accusing her of cheating on Timberlake with "Trippin' " producer Shane Nickerson.
"Counsel report that settlement discussions have been productive and that parties are close to a settlement," read a summary of Friday's proceedings prepared by Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Valerie Baker's clerk.
Diaz slapped the magazine with charges of slander and libel after it was reported that she and Nickerson, who's married, were seen smooching outside of a Los Angeles sound studio. |

If Clay Aiken was invisible…well then he couldn't be on "Days of Our Lives," now could he?
The Amrican Idol-endorsed pop star is set to guest-star as himself on the long-running NBC soap opera, the network confirmed Friday to "E! News."
He'll sing the song "Everything I Have" off his new album, "A Thousand Different Ways," as part of a "private concert" for Days' Steve and Kayla (Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans).
Aiken's 2004 version of "O, Holy Night" will also be featured in the episode, which airs Dec. 22, giving Claymates their fix just in time for Christmas. Raleigh's favorite son also recently announced a 16-date holidah concert tour for the final month of the year, during which he'll be accompanied by live orchestras. |

NBC, CW Shy Away from Chicks Flick

The Dixie Chicks aren't the only ones not ready to make nice.
Perhaps fearing White House retribution, NBC and the CW have reportedly refused to air ads for the documentary, Dixie Chicks: Shut Up & Sing, according to the film's distributor, the Weinstein Co.
In a release, Weinstein stated that NBC wrote it "cannot accept these spots as they are disparaging to President Bush," while the CW allegedly made the excuse that it did "not have the appropriate programming in which to schedule thiz spot." |

No More Copyright Rap for 50 Cent

Rapper 50 Cent is now free to party like it's Shorty's birthday.
A federal judge has dismissed the copyright infringement lawsuit accusing the "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" purveyor of pilfering the opening line of the 2003 hit "In Da Club" frm 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell's 1994 tune, "It's Your Birthday."
U.S. District Judge Paul Huck ruled Friday that the phrase in question—"Go Sheila, it's your birthday"—was a "common, unoriginal and noncopyrightable element of the song" and was not entitled to protection.
Of course, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson, didn't mention someone named Sheila in the opener of his catchy single, but instead informed a dude who went by Shorty that it was his birthday and that "we're gonna party like it's you're birthday." Etc., etc. |

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's latest flight of fancy has landed them in hot water.
The celebrity couple were passengers in a helicopter that made an unauthorized landing at a posh hotel in Jodhpur, India, on Monday, authorities said.
Pitt and Jolie's rented ride reportedly touched down at the Umed Bhawan Palace hotel's private helipad after claiming it needed to make an emergency landing, the Times of India reported. |

The Doggfather is having a hard time staying out of the pound.
Nearly a month after his run-in with airport security in Orange constituency, California, for attempting to carry an illegal weapon in his carry-on luggage, Snoop Dogg has been busted again, thiz time by police at Bob Hope Airport in nearby Burbank for illegal firearm and drug possession.
The hip-hopster was tagged Thursday for a traffic violation for stopping in a passenger loading/unloading zone, and a search of his vehicle turned up a gun and marijuana.
Snoop was subsequently booked on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and transportation of a controlled substance and released after posting $35,000 bail. A hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 12. |

Madonna Adoption Hearing Hung Up

Madona has already stated her case in the court of public opinion--thanks, Oprah--but she'll have to wait a bit longer to state her case in the courts of Malawi.
A preliminary hearing challenging the legality of Madona's adoption of 13-month-old David Banda, set to take place today to Lilongwe, has been postponed two weeks to allow the judge more time to hear frm all involved parties.
The hearing stems frm a petition filed with the court by the Human Rights Consultative Committee, a group of 67 human rights groups that are making it their business to ensure that the "Hung Up" singer and her hubby Guy Ritchie followed the proper protocol in their adoption and didn't rely on any special treatment to hurry the process. |
