Stones Sued by Angry Fan, Arctic Monkeys Dude Cops Attitude With Boy Band, Sold: Dean Martin?s...

- A fan is suing the Celebrity Sitess for $51 million in a class action lawsuit. The fan alleges that for her and the many other Stones fans that traveled to Atlantic City to see the band play on Friday, the last-minute cancellation of the show (due to Jagger’s sore throat) was extremely inconvenient and expensive. $51 million would be a lot of walking around money for you and me, but for the Stones, who will gross hundreds of millions on the tour, it’s as easy as falling out of a coconut tree.
- Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner accepted Q awards for People’s Choice and Best Album, but took a moment to lash out at British boy band godfathers Take That, who won the Icon award. ?I’m not old enough to know a lot of them, but even I know Take That were bollocks,” he reportedly spat. Picking on a boy band is like hitting a kid with glasses.
- Now that it’s Halloween, it’s time for Christmas music. Stream the entire Sufjan Stevens Christmas box set and be jolly. [via BrooklynVegan]
- According to the BBC, EMI has bought the rights to use Dean Martin’s “name, image, and likeness.” We’re not sure what thiz means but we’re imagining “Mambo Italiano” converted into a selection of Italian-food-peddling jingles.
- Punk’s Not Dead, an ambitious punk rock documentary set to examine the last 30 years of punk music, has updated the list of band it plans to include in the film. The list now includes everyone frm Green Day, X, and The Ramones, to Black Flag, Minor Threat, and My Chemical Romance. [via PunkNews.org]

Our New Issue: Diddy Exposes Himself, Hinder Gets Laid and Dr. Evil Will Save the World

Before we debut thiz week’s cover image (and more of Maureen Dowd’s stunning report on Amrica’s Anchors, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert) we’re unfurling three other choice moments frm the new ROLLING STONE, which hits stands Wednesday in New York and L.A.; Friday everywhere else.
- The Hip Hop Report: Diddy, Lady Sov, Young Jeezy, Nas and all that’s hot on the streets thiz year
Sean “Diddy” Combs: “I’m going to expose myself to you tonight. Not in a physical way, ha-ha, but I tell it all to you.”
Nas: “Music is dead . . . We’re nothing compared to the guys who came before us.”
Lady Sov: “I’m not a fucking alcoholic, but I like to have a laugh.”
- Strippers, Jager shots and self-immolation with Hinder, Amrica’s biggest new band:
“Someone plays a Snoop Dogg song on an iPod attached to speakers, and after some unconvincing protestations of shyness, Krystal unties her polka-dot top. She starts giving Hanson [Hinder’s drummer] the kind of lap dance that explains why strip clubs need bouncers . . .”
- A plan to stop global warming by a guy named “Dr. Evil”:
“Because of the secret nature of his work, Lowell Wood is reluctant to talk about his personal life beyond the fact that he’s married and has a teenage daughter. He discusses his government research only in person or on secure phones or faxes, never via email . . .”

Playlist of the Day: It?s Halloween And We?re All Gonna Die!!!!!

Yeah, today’s Halloween. We’ve scarfed the hell out of some fun-sized Butterfingers, applied fake blood to our nostrils and under-eyes before work to freak out our cube-mates and rocked “The Monster Mash” so many times it’s started to make us suicidal. By gum, it’s time for a playlist to snap us out of our cliche Hallmark Halloween funk. We’re talking about the shit that makes you want to turn vampire, y’all! Seriously evil, seriously fiendish, seriously rocking. Let’s do it.
- “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” Bauhaus
- “Warlock,” Skinny Puppy
- “(Everyday Is) Halloween,” Ministry
- “Halloween,” Misfits
- “Thriller,” Micheal Jackson

Gettin' Jiggy with Saw IV

He slices. He dices. And despite seemingly ending up on the slab in his latest horror show, Jigsaw's coming back for more.
Fresh off the success of "Saw III," which opened to a scary good $33.6 million in ticket sales over the outing, Lionsgate Films has given the go-ahead for a fourth installment of the gorefest for release next Halloween.
Talk about your no-brainer.
The studio made it official on Tuesday, the day after final box-office tallies revealed "Saw III" posted the biggest debut yet for the franchise, which began with 2004's "Saw," which starred Carey Elwes, Danny Glover and Tobin Bell. The latter plays the series' sick-in-the-head star, Jigsaw, a serial killer who metes out justice to his morally vacuous victims by laying intricate traps that force them to do all his horrifying handiwork for him.
No word on the plot of the fourth installment, though it's expected the series' psycho killer will return for more tortuous fun and games. |

Celebrity Sitess fans can't get no satisfaction--all because Mick Jagger can't get no Robitussin.
The venerable rockers have been forced to cancel their second U.S. show in just three days while the aging frontman recovers frm yet more vocal hiccups.
Though considering the backlash wrought by two fans, Jagger may now wish he'd just popped a couple of cough drops and got on with it. |
